Bardiya District Rajapur Napa. Born to father Jhupa Chand and mother Leela Chand in Ward No. 4 Chainpur Village, Suren Chand is a busy modern singer and composer. He has given voice and music in many songs. He is a B.Sc. In the year 2060, he entered this field after receiving the consolation prize in the nationwide folk song competition from Radio Nepal. He has given his voice in more than 5 dozen songs.

His first song was a folk song in Rajapurai where we met at first sight. It had words by Mahendra Sedai, music and voice by himself. Famous singers have also given voice in his music. Similar to the conversation that our correspondent Prakash Baraily "Abhibyakti" had with the same singer and musician Suren Chand.

1, How did your musical journey begin?

I used to participate in school life because of my musical field. Later, in the year 2060 B.S., I heard from Radio Nepal that there is a nationwide folk song competition. After that, he got the consolation prize in that competition. After that, my musical journey began.

2, which of your songs managed to stay in the limelight?

Why did the songs I sang became more popular among those who I thought were strangers, and Narayani Taresi song from Dhoka, Chitwan managed to stay popular. The solo album Yoo Pal was also released around 2065. It had Mahendra Sedai's words and my music and vocals. This song also brought me into limelight.

3. Which countries have you been to for music programs so far?

I have participated in various programs in Dubai and Nepal so far.

4, what are your future plans?

My next plan is to launch a new solo album in the market with the music of various famous musicians. The recording of the album is ongoing. Hope everyone will like it.

5, how was your childhood?

My childhood was spent playing in my native land, reading and singing in school life.

6. How did you get the inspiration to sing?

I dreamed of becoming a singer especially when my family and especially my brothers Gopal Chand and Deepak Chand sang to me. He also received encouragement and support from everyone.

7. Who supported you after you came to Kathmandu?

After coming to Kathmandu, he took music classes. The teachers who taught me music are Bijay Singh Munal, Dhan Bahadur Gopali, Ganesh Gurung, Ram Chandra Anjan, Chandi Prasad Kafle and others. Many musicians including Rajkumar Bagar have also supported. Also, my life partner Anu Oli also has a hand in supporting me every moment. I think I would not be in this position if he did not help and support me in the music field.Because I have seen the situation where some artists had to leave this field because of their wives.

8, it sounds like you are also a music teacher?

I have previously taught music classes to many as a self-taught music instructor at Satyavati Kala Kendra. But now, due to my busy schedule, I am not teaching music.

9, what do you want to say about the current musical field?

In the Nepali music industry, there is a trend of releasing albums without any training and I am not satisfied when I see different types of songs coming in the market. To do so is perversion. I request the audience and listeners to distinguish between good and bad songs and love good songs.

10. Finally, what do you want to say to your well-wishers?

I am practicing music. I am sustained by your love, and please give me support, advice and suggestions. I want you to love my songs.
